My name is Amanda but you can use my screenname, webcomix, if you don't remember. I just finished my first year of university, where I was in Toronto, but I'm from Hong Kong. I love all sorts of musicals and I'm studying to be an actor for stage, but I wouldn't turn down any film roles C:
My minor is film and I'm actually in it mostly because I think it's a fascinating subject and I'm interested in filmmaking. In movies, you (as the filmmaker) have the power to make sure the audience sees what you exactly want to see. So what I like about movie musicals is how they can deliver the invisible magic of editing and special effects, and how different forms of media can be incorporated, such as animation.

My favorite movie musicals are An American in Paris, Newsies, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Meet Me in St. Louis, the 1973 version of Jesus Christ Superstar, and Disney's the Hunchback of Notre Dame (animated).
My favorite stage musicals are A Chorus Line (but I didn't like the movie at all!), Les Miserables, Billy Elliot (this movie I love), the Last Five Years, [title of show], Into the Woods, Hair (didn't like this movie either) and Jersey Boys.
My favorite non-musical movies (although the above are still in this list) are Billy Elliot, Amadeus, the Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Run Lola Run.

I'm a Finnish girl who's loved movie musicals since I was nine years old. Then I saw Grease on tv. It didn't matter that I missed the title song and Summer Nights. It didn't matter that when I taped it on a video the tape ended too early and the last 45 minutes was on different tape. It didn't matter I didn't get half of the jokes. I still loved it and sometimes watched it even twice a day. Since that I've liked movie musicals (and I've really loved live musicals since I saw Cats eight months ago. Since that I've seen six live musicals more :D).
My other hobbies include drawing, reading and listening to music (mostly showtunes).

I'm a big fan of both musical theatre and musical movies. I'm really hung up in movie musicals since I can't see so many productions on stage. The first movie musical I saw was The Wizard of oz when I was four years old, and not much later Grease.
The musical that really caught me was Chicago when I went to the cinema. That really started a movie musical mania, and I bought all the movie musicals i could find. Now i have 52 movie musicals and stage productions, hoping for more...
